A Way Back Into Your Body, One Moment at a Time

Part of the Sacred Touch collection

Sit somewhere you can stay still for a minute and place one hand over your chest and the other over your stomach.

Don’t adjust your breathing straight away. Just notice how it is when you first stop. Your hands make the contact obvious. You can feel where the movement is, or where it isn’t.

Give it a second.

Then let the next breath come in a little slower, without forcing it. Your chest might move first, or your stomach might start to shift under your hand. Either way is fine. You’re not trying to get it right, just letting your body settle into something slightly different.

That’s usually where it begins.

When you feel disconnected, it’s rarely something dramatic. It’s more that your attention has moved away from your body without you noticing. Everything is happening in your head, and your body is just following along in the background.

This brings it back.

The contact of your hands. The movement of your breath. The fact that you can feel both at the same time.

Stay there for a few breaths longer than you think you need.

Your shoulders might drop a little. Your breathing might deepen without you pushing it. The sense of being “elsewhere” starts to shift back into something more physical.

You don’t need to do anything more complicated than that.

You can begin here.

To stay with this month’s rose more deeply, the May 2026 – The Baroque Rose Workbook is waiting for you here – a quiet companion of prompts, rituals, and reflective practices to help you soften into the theme at your own pace.
