Sit or lie in a way that feels supported and let your body settle into it.
Notice what’s holding you up. The chair, the floor, the bed—whatever is underneath you. Let your weight drop into it instead of keeping yourself slightly lifted or braced.
Stay there.
At first, you might not feel much difference. Your mind can still be active, your body still holding tension in small ways. That’s fine.
Give it a few seconds.
As your body realises it doesn’t need to keep itself upright in the same way, something starts to shift. Your shoulders release slightly. Your breathing becomes steadier. There’s less of a sense that you’re holding everything together on your own.
That’s what changes it.
When your body feels unsupported, even subtly, it stays slightly on edge. Muscles stay engaged, attention stays alert, everything feels a bit more scattered.
When you’re properly supported, that pressure drops.
You don’t need to do anything else to make that happen.
Just stay where you are for a few breaths longer than you normally would.
Let your body feel what it’s like not to hold itself up for a moment.
That’s often enough to calm it down.
To stay with this month’s rose more deeply, the June 2026 – The Watery Rose Workbook is waiting for you here – a quiet companion of prompts, rituals, and reflective practices to help you soften into the theme at your own pace.
