Part of the Pages of Light collection

The crossed-out line.

The sentence that began one way and ended somewhere stranger.

The word repeated five times because nothing else would come.

The page where your handwriting changed halfway through.

The paragraph that makes no sense now, but felt urgent then.

The ink pressed harder in certain places.

The part where you stopped trying to sound wise.

The complaint you were too embarrassed to say aloud.

The grief that arrived disguised as irritation.

The jealousy that turned out to be longing.

The nonsense phrase that opened the real thing.

The three messy pages that gave you one honest sentence.

The truth written badly is still truth.

The polished lie remains a lie.

There are thoughts that only appear once they realise you are not going to tidy them first.

There are feelings that stay hidden while you are busy making them presentable.

There are answers that do not enter through the front door. They climb in through the window when the room is untidy.

So write quickly.

Write badly.

Write the same word until another word arrives.

Write the version that contradicts yesterday’s version.

Write what sounds petty, childish, dramatic, confused.

Write what you do not yet know how to explain.

Leave spelling mistakes like open windows.

Let the page hold your unfinishedness.

You are not trying to create literature.

You are trying to meet yourself before performance returns.

Sometimes clarity comes neatly.

Sometimes it comes with its hair wild, shoes in hand, and mascara halfway down its face.

Let it in anyway.

To stay with this month’s rose more deeply, the July 2026 – The Vital Rose Workbook is waiting for you here – a quiet companion of prompts, rituals, and reflective practices to help you soften into the theme at your own pace.
