Part of the Goddess Awakening and Moments of Softness collections
Bring something soft closer to you and let your body come into contact with it.
A blanket, a cushion, the sleeve of a jumper—anything with a texture that feels gentle against your skin. Don’t just have it nearby. Adjust slightly so you can actually feel it.
Stay there.
At first, it might seem like a small change. Your surroundings haven’t shifted dramatically. But your body notices it straight away.
The contact is different.
Your muscles respond to that without you needing to think about it. There’s a slight softening, a small drop in tension, as if your body recognises it doesn’t need to stay quite as guarded.
That’s what changes.
Most environments are neutral or slightly hard. Surfaces, furniture, the pace of the day—everything keeps your body in a more alert state than you realise.
When you introduce softness, even in a small way, that signal shifts.
You don’t have to actively relax.
Your body does some of it for you.
If you stay there for a few moments longer, the effect becomes clearer. Your breathing slows a little. Your shoulders ease. The sense of pressure drops slightly, even if nothing else has changed.
You don’t need to transform your whole space.
Just give your body something softer to respond to.
Let it do the rest.
To stay with this month’s rose more deeply, the August 2026 – The Wild Rose Workbook is waiting for you here – a quiet companion of prompts, rituals, and reflective practices to help you soften into the theme at your own pace.
