Part of the Goddess Awakening and Moments of Softness collections
Lower the light around you and give your eyes a moment to adjust.
Don’t rush to replace it with something else. Just stay where you are and notice how the space feels when it’s not as bright.
At first it can feel slightly unfamiliar, like something has been taken away. Your eyes look for more detail, your attention stays a bit alert.
Give it a few seconds.
Your focus begins to soften. You stop scanning in the same way. Your body follows that change without you needing to do anything deliberate.
Your shoulders ease slightly. Your breathing slows a little. The sense of being “on” drops, even if only by a small amount.
That’s the shift.
Bright light keeps your attention active. It pulls your focus outward and holds it there. Your body responds by staying engaged, ready, slightly more alert than necessary.
When the light lowers, that signal changes.
You don’t need to tell your body to relax.
It recognises the difference and adjusts on its own.
Stay there for a moment longer than you normally would.
Let your eyes settle. Let your body catch up to the change in the space around you.
You don’t need to do anything else.
Let it soften.
To stay with this month’s rose more deeply, the September 2026 – The Fading Rose Workbook is waiting for you here – a quiet companion of prompts, rituals, and reflective practices to help you soften into the theme at your own pace.
